NSITE is excited to announce our partnership with Next Level Purchasing Association (NLPA) to bring you a new Career Skills training opportunity developed for blind and low vision jobseekers with an interest in the field of procurement/purchasing.

This program serves as the entry point to the follow-on NLPA Certified Procurement Operations Specialist (CPOS) Certification Program and is designed for both aspiring and experienced procurement professionals.

NSITE’s Procurement Foundations Program consists of blended learning that enables procurement professionals, among other things, to identify vendors who provide the best value to their business, not necessarily the lowest price.

Program Structure:

NSITE’s Procurement Foundations Program spans five weeks and is comprised of the following program components:

  1. Prerequisite courses:
    1. Introduction to Procurement
    2. MS Excel basics
  2. Three specific individual courses from NLPA’s Certified Procurement Operations Specialist (CPOS) Certification Program, selected to provide a basic understanding of the essential elements of today’s procurement methods and practices:
    1. 14 Procurement Best Practices
    2. Powerful Negotiation for Successful Buying
    3. Data Analytics for Procurement Professionals

Each course is followed by an instructor-led group session to answer questions and deepen the learning.
  3. Three express courses of each participant’s choice to dive deeper into certain areas of procurement based on their interest or job requirements.

Participants sponsored through NIB-affiliated organizations may be eligible for full tuition coverage provided by NIB upon acceptance and successful course completion.
